Youth Conservation Corps (YCC)
A month-long paid summer program placing teens in national parks, forests, wildlife refuges, and hatcheries for conservation work including trail maintenance, ecological monitoring, and invasive plant removal.
Applications are closed for the 2026 YCC season.
You can review the YCC application to plan ahead when the 2027 season opens in late January/beginning of February.
To submit an application, please email the point of contact for the park you are applying to with the completed form.

NOAA Ocean Guardian Schools
A school-based program through NOAA's Office of National Marine Sanctuaries in which a school commits to a conservation/stewardship project connected to its local ocean or watershed, with curriculum support and small grants.
EarthEcho International Youth Leadership Council
A competitively-selected leadership council (ages 15-22) founded by Philippe Cousteau Jr. that leads campaigns and programs on ocean and water conservation.
Jane Goodall's Roots & Shoots
A global youth-led service-learning movement with local chapters/groups tackling projects that benefit people, animals, and the environment, providing curriculum, tools, and a project framework for student-led environmental action.
