Toastmasters International Youth Leadership Program

Naturalists in Training (Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History)
A teen volunteer program at the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History, near Monterey Bay, for students entering grades 9-12. Trainees attend workshops on natural history and coastal ecology, then serve volunteer shifts helping the public and leading nature activities, earning community service hours or a stipend.
NSBE Jr. / Pre-College Initiative
NSBE Jr. is the K-12 arm of the National Society of Black Engineers, running local chapters (including one at Richmond High School in the Bay Area) that provide hands-on STEM activities, mentorship, competitions, and college/career preparation for students interested in engineering. Students without a local chapter can join as an 'At-Large' member nationally.
Sacramento Mineral Society Junior Rockhound Program
A monthly youth-focused meeting series run by the Sacramento Mineral Society to engage students in rockhounding, mineral identification, and earth science through hands-on activities and a badge/achievement system. Meetings are held alongside the society's main educational meetings at the Sacramento County Cooperative Building.
